Monday Genea-Pourri - 22 July 2019

Here are the highlights of my family history and genealogy related activities over the past week:

1)  Moderated the Chula Vista Genealogical Society (CVGS) DNA Interest Group at the Chula Vista Civic Center Library, with 14 in attendance.  I discussed the DNA Central highlights, several DNA articles, adding notes to AncestryDNA and MyHeritageDNA matches, my DNA test summary, and the AncestryDNA ThruLines and DNA Matches out of beta, with an example.  The attendees discussed their test status, their ThruLines (Gary received one for his birth father!), and contacts with matches.

2)  Participated in today's Mondays With Myrt hangout, and discussed DNA matches, the We're Related mobile app, and my SDGS presentation on 13 July.  Other topics were critical thinking, Thrulines, Essex parish records on Findmypast, WDYTYA in the UK, Dave Robison's trip to Ogio and his background photo, the CCC, FGS Conference in August, Feedly, and Gary's CEF record issue.

3)  Watched one Legacy Family Tree webinar -- Using DNA for Adoption & Unknown Parentage Work by Mary Eberle.

5)  Wrote and posted a biography of 5th great-grandmother #243 Katreen (--?--) Dafoe (1755-1792) for my 52 Ancestors post on Friday.

6)  Finished the editing of my Overview of DNA Testing and Analysis presentation scheduled for 1 August at OASIS and 14 September at a local library.  Added ThruLines, Theory of Family Relativity, Genetic Affairs, and more.

7) There were several sessions working in the RootsMagic software program to update FamilySearch Family Tree profiles for Seaver families and my ancestral families, with occasional additions to the RootsMagic profiles. I have matched 31,649 of my RootsMagic persons with FSFT.

8)  I continue to use Web Hints and Record Matches from Ancestry, MyHeritage, Findmypast and FamilySearch to add content and sources to my RootsMagic profiles.  I now have 54,056 persons in my RootsMagic file, and 106,860 source citations.   I TreeShared twice this week updating 312 profiles, and I resolved 1,021 Ancestry Hints.  I've fallen behind on the Ancestry Record Hints with 113,801 to be resolved, but I work on them weekly.

9) Wrote 17 Genea-Musings blog posts last week, of which one was a press release.  The most popular post last week was
