Seavers in The News - Fred M. Seaver Dies in 1941 in Lake Mills, Wisconsin

It's time for another edition of "Seavers in the News" - a weekly feature from the historical newspapers about persons with the surname Seaver that are interesting, useful, mysterious, fun, macabre, or add information to my family tree database.

This week's entry is from The Capital Times [Madison, Wis.] newspaper dated 18 June 1941:

The transcription of the article is:

"Fred M. Seaver of Lake Mills Dead

"Lake Mills, Wis. -- Fred M. Seaver, 84, well-known pioneer Lake Mills business man, died Tuesday at his home here after a long illness.

"Born at Lake Mills, Mr. Seaver had resided here all his life.  He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. F.A. Seaver.  His father was head of the old Seaver knife company here.

"Fred Seaver was associated with the knife company when a young man.  Later he successively operated a garage here and was associated with the F.B. Fargo Co., now the Creamery Package Co.  He retired about 16 years ago.

Fred Millard Seaver is my 5th cousin 4 times removed, with common ancestors of my 8th great-grandparents Shubael and Hannah (Wilson) Seaver.

There are over 9,500 Seaver "stories" in my family tree - and this was one of them.   Life happens, accidentally and intentionally, and I am glad that I can honor Fred Millard Seaver today.

You never know when a descendant or relative will find this blog post and learn something about their ancestors or relatives, or will provide more information about them to me.
