This week's document for transcription is the 1740 deed record for Robert Sever, yeoman of Framingham buying a 100 acre parcel of land in Framingham from Thomas Frost, yeoman of Framingham, for 500 pounds.

To all People to whom these Presents Shall come Greeting
Know ye that I Thomas Frost of Framingham in the County of
Middlesex within his Majestys Province of the Massachusetts Bay in New
England yeoman for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred
pounds in bills of Credit and a Lease of the hereafter mentioned Premises
to me in hand before the ensealing hereof well and truly paid by Ro-
bert Sever of the abovesaid Town County and Province Yeoman the re-
ceipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge and my self therewith fully satis-
fied and contented and thereof and of every part and parcel thereof do
exonerate acquit and discharge him the said Robert Sever his heirs
Executors and administrators forever by these presents have given
granted bargained sold aliened conveyed and confirmed and by these
presents do freely fully and absolutely give grant bargain sell aliene
convey and confirm unto him the said Robert Sever his heirs & assigns
forever a certain Tract or parcel of upland Swamp meadow and Pas-
ture Land situate lying and being in Framingham containing by Esti-
matation one hundred acres be the same more or less butted & bounded
as follows viz't. Beginning at the Southeast Corner at a ?????? Oak Tree
marked standing by the meadow in possession of Hezekiah Stone thence
running Northeasterly by land of the said Stone to a red oak Stand marked
then to a crotched black Oak marked and bounded on this Easterly side
on land in possession of said Frost thence running Westerly by land of
Nathanael Gibbs to a white Oak tree marked thence Southerly by land of
Ebenezer and James Boutal to a pine tree marked near Hog-pond and So
Westerly to a pine tree marked So Westerly to a crotched black Oak tree
marked at the Northwest Corner of said Land thence Southerly by the
Land of John Winch to a stake and stones being the South Corner of
said and then running Easterly by the lands of Christopher Nixson
by a stake and stones to a white Oak marked which is the SouthEas-
terly Corner and thence Northerly to a stake and stones thence to the bounds
first mentioned. To Have and to hold the said granted and bargained Pre-
mises with all the appurtenances Privileges and Commodities to the same
belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the said Robert Sever his
heirs and assigns forever to his and their only proper use benefit and
behoof forever and I the said Thomas Frost for me my heirs Executors
and administrators do covenant promise and grant to and with him
the said Robert Sever his heirs and assigns that before the ensealing
hereof I am the true sole and lawful owner of the above bargained
premises and am lawfully seized and possessed of the same in my own
proper right as a good perfect and absolute Estate of Inheritance in
fee simple and have in my self good Right full power & lawful

Authority to grant bargain sell convey and confirm said bargained Pre-
mises in manner as aforesaid and that the said Robert Sever his heirs &
assigns Shall and may from time to time and at all times forever hereafter
by force and vertue of these presents lawfully peaceably and quietly have
hold use occupy possess and enjoy the said demised and bargained premises
with the appurtenances free and clear and freely and clearly acquitted ex-
onerated and discharged of from all and all manner of ?????? or other Gifts
Grants Bargains Sales Leases Mortgages Wills Entails Jointures Dowers Judg-
ments Executions or Incumbrances of what ???? or Nature soever that might
in any measure or degree obstruct or make void this present deed. Further
more I the said Thomas Frost for my self my heirs Executors and Ad-
ministrators do covenant and engage the above demised premises to him
the said Robert Sever his heirs and assigns against the lawful Claims
or Demands of an person or persons whatsoever forever hereafter to War-
rant Secure and defend by these presents. In witness whereof I the said
Thomas Frost have hereunto set my hand and seal dated the Nineteenth ^Day of January^
Annoque Dom'i 1739/40 and in the thirteenth year of his Majesty's Reign
George the Second King e'ra. Thomas Frost his mark E and seal . Signed
Sealed and delivered in presence of Aaron Goodenow Dan Goodenow.
Middlesex ss Sudbury Sep'r the 16 1740. The within named Thomas Frost
personally appearing acknowledged the within written Instrument to be his vo-
luntary Act and Deed. Before me Eben'r Roby Just. Pac.

This deed is for a tract of 100 acres of upland, swamp, meadow and pasture land in Framingham sold by Thomas Frost to Robert Sever for 500 pounds of bills of credit.
Robert Sever (1702-1752) was the son of Joseph and Mary (Read) Sever of Framingham, Massachusetts. He married Eunice Rayment (1707-1772) on 2 September 1726 in Boston, and they had nine children. Robert and Eunice (Rayment) Sever are my 6th great-grandparents through their son Norman Seaver (1734-1787).
