Best of the Genea-Blogs - 30 July to 5 August 2023

Scores of genealogy and family history bloggers write hundreds of posts every week about their research, their families, and their interests. I appreciate each one of them and their efforts.

My criteria for "Best of ..." are pretty simple - I pick posts that advance knowledge about genealogy and family history, address current genealogy issues, provide personal family history, are funny or are poignant. I don't list posts destined for daily blog prompts or meme submissions (but I do include summaries of them), or my own posts.

Here are my picks for great reads from the genealogy blogs for this past week:

*  Triangulation on a Side Is a Snap by Jim Bartlett on Segment-ology.

*  How To Hire a Professional Genealogist by Jessica Taylor on Legacy Tree Genealogists.

*  Backup Day: LOCKSS and Paperless Genealogy by Marian B. Wood on Climbing My Family Tree.

*  Genealogy Skills Make You a Keen Detective by DiAnn Iamarino Ohana on Fortify Your Family Tree.

*  Striving for “organized enough” by Janine Adams on Organize our Family History.

*  Always New Records on FamilySearch.org by James Tanner on Genealogy's Star.

*  6 Tips for Searching Historical Records on MyHeritage by Esther on MyHeritage Blog.

*  Three Things You Can Do With Mystery Family Photos? by Ellen Thompson-Jennings on Hound on the Hunt.

*  Globetrekker – A New Feature for Big Y Customers From FamilyTreeDNA by Roberta Estes on DNAeXplained - Genetic Genealogy.

*  Discover the New HathiTrust Website by Gena Philbert-Ortega on Legacy News.

*  The Minister's Dilemma, 52 Ancestors by Elizabeth Richards on Scrapping My Family History.

Here are pick posts by other geneabloggers this week:

*  Friday's Family History Finds by Linda Stufflebean on Empty Branches on the Family Tree.

Friday Fossicking 4th Aug 2023 by Crissoulli on That Moment In Time.

*  This Week's Creme de la  Creme - August 5, 2023 by Gail Dever on Genealogy a la Carte.

Readers are encouraged to go to the blogs listed above and  read their articles, and add the blogs to your Favorites, Feedly, another RSS feed, or email if you like what you read. Please make a comment to them also - all bloggers appreciate feedback on what they write.

Did I miss a great genealogy blog post? Tell me! I currently am reading posts from over 900 genealogy bloggers using Feedly, but I still miss quite a few it seems.

Thank you for including The Minister's Dilemma on this list. It's an honor.
