Best of the Genea-Blogs - Week of 24 to 30 September 2023

Scores of genealogy and family history bloggers write hundreds of posts every week about their research, their families, and their interests. I appreciate each one of them and their efforts.

My criteria for "Best of ..." are pretty simple - I pick posts that advance knowledge about genealogy and family history, address current genealogy issues, provide personal family history, are funny or are poignant. I don't list posts destined for daily blog prompts or meme submissions (but I do include summaries of them), or my own posts.

Here are my picks for great reads from the genealogy blogs for this past week:

Inside My Family History Photo Books by Marian B. Wood on Climbing My Family Tree.

*  Recasting a question gets a better answer by James Beidler on Roots & Branches.

*  Unlocking the Secrets of Our Ancestors: Harnessing Determination, Courage, and Resilience for Achieving the Impossible by Coni Dubois on Ever Widening Circle.

*  William C. Gleeson’s Death Certificate and the Cause of Death by Lisa S. Gorrell on My Trails Into the Past.

*  How to Use DNA Matches to Go Beyond Vital Records by Diann Iamarino Ohana on Fortify Your Family Tree.

*  100 Best Free Online Genealogy Websites by Kenneth Marks on The Ancestor Hunt.

*  Ancestry Updates Ethnicity, Introduces New Features & Pushes Some Behind Paywall by Roberta Estes on DNAeXplained - Genetic Genealogy.

*  Back to the Basics with Immigration Records: Part 1 – Getting Started by Diana Elder on Family Locket.

*  13 Common Genealogy Questions, Answered by Rachel Christian on Family Tree Magazine.

*  Step By Step Guide On The Probate Court Process by Antony Anto on Record Click.

*  Jan and the Complex Pedigree Analysis by Leah Larkin on The DNA Geek.

*  7 Strategies to Set Up Your DNA Project for Success by Paul Woodbury on Legacy Tree Genealogists.

Here are pick posts by other geneabloggers this week:

*  Friday's Family History Finds by Linda Stufflebean on Empty Branches on the Family Tree.

Friday Fossicking 29th Sept 2023 by Crissoulli on That Moment In Time.

*  This Week's Creme de la  Creme - September 30, 2023 by Gail Dever on Genealogy a la Carte.

Readers are encouraged to go to the blogs listed above and  read their articles, and add the blogs to your Favorites, Feedly, another RSS feed, or email if you like what you read. Please make a comment to them also - all bloggers appreciate feedback on what they write.

Did I miss a great genealogy blog post? Tell me! I currently am reading posts from over 900 genealogy bloggers using Feedly, but I still miss quite a few it seems.
