Best of the Genea-Blogs - Week of 12 to 18 November 2023

Scores of genealogy and family history bloggers write hundreds of posts every week about their research, their families, and their interests. I appreciate each one of them and their efforts.

My criteria for "Best of ..." are pretty simple - I pick posts that advance knowledge about genealogy and family history, address current genealogy issues, provide personal family history, are funny or are poignant. I don't list posts destined for most daily blog prompts or meme submissions (but I do include summaries of them), or my own posts.

Here are my picks for great reads from the genealogy blogs for this past week:

*  The Power of AI in Tutoring by Dana Leeds on Dana Leeds.

*  Researching Your Scandinavian Ancestors Part 2: Locality Research and Repositories by Torhild Shirley on Family Locket.

*  When a DNA Segment is Shared By a Group of People by Mercedes Brons on Who Are You Made Of?

*  Marie Gaudet (c1633-1710) – The Three Maries – 52 Ancestors #415 by Roberta Estes on DNAeXplained - Genetic Genealogy.

*  Cyril W. Hork Signed up to Play Baseball at Naval Training Station in San Diego  by Lisa S. Gorrell on My Trails Into the Past.

*  Free WikiTree Symposium Talks Still Available by Marian B. Wood on Climbing My Family Tree.

*  AI by Marcia C. Philbrick on Heartland Genealogy.

*  Methodology: Finding Aids and How to Use Them by Linda Stufflebean on Empty Branches on the Family Tree.

*  The Boston Tea Party: An Ancestor’s Perspective by Jared Nathan on Vita Brevis.

*  Death Certificates at Michiganology.org by Brenda Leyndyke on Journey to the Past.

*  15th Annual FamilyTreeDNA Conference for Genetic Genealogy – Reunion, Reception and Keynote by Roberta Estes on DNAeXplained - Genetic Genealogy.

*  How Donna Kelce is using Ancestry® to preserve her legacy this holiday season on the Ancestry Blog.

*  The 10 Most Important Record Groups for Dutch Research by Yvette Hoitink on Dutch Genealogy.

*  Can ChatGPT Help with Genealogy Citations? by Nicole Dyer on Family Locket.

Here are pick posts by other geneabloggers this week:

*  Friday's Family History Finds by Linda Stufflebean on Empty Branches on the Family Tree.

*  Friday Fossicking 17th Nov 2023 by Crissoulli on That Moment In Time.

*  This Week's Creme de la  Creme - November 18, 2023 by Gail Dever on Genealogy a la Carte.

Readers are encouraged to go to the blogs listed above and  read their articles, and add the blogs to your Favorites, Feedly, another RSS feed, or email if you like what you read. Please make a comment to them also - all bloggers appreciate feedback on what they write.

Did I miss a great genealogy blog post? Tell me! I currently am reading posts from over 900 genealogy bloggers using Feedly, but I still miss quite a few it seems.
