It's Treasure Chest Thursday - an opportunity to look in my digital image files to see what treasures I can find for my family history research and genealogy musings.
The treasure today is the 1791 burial record of "Pethina" Hill in the Hilperton, Wiltshire, Church of England parish burial records.
The burial record for Pethina Hill is the first record on the page:
The transcription of this record is
"[1791] March 3 Pethina Hill Pauper"
The source citation is:
Wiltshire, Church of England records, Pethina Hill burial entry, 3 March 1791; imaged, "Wiltshire, England, Church of England Baptisms, Marriage and Burials, 1531-1812," Ancestry.com (https://www.ancestry.com/search/collections/61187/records/1780478 : accessed 11 February 2026), Hilperton > Parish Registers > 1772-1812, image 38 of 74; Original Records: Wiltshire Church of England Parish Registers, Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre, Chippenham, Wiltshire, England.
Patience Ring (1723-1791) was probably born in Hilperton, Wiltshire in 1723, the daughter of Timothy Ring and Patience Richman. She married John Hill (1725-1769) on 3 October 1743 in Hilperton, Wiltshire. "Pethina" (likely Patience) Hill was buried 3 March 1791 in Hilperton, Wiltshire.
John and Patience (Ring) Hill are my 5th great-grandparents, through their son John Hill (1765-1825) who married Ann Warren (1764-????) in 1788 in Hilperton, Wiltshire.
