Seavers in the News - Francis George Seaver Dies in 1915 in San Diego

It's time for another edition of "Seavers in the News" - a semi-regular feature from the historical newspapers about persons with the surname Seaver that are interesting, useful, fun, macabre, or add information to my family tree database.

This week's entry is from the San Diego [Calif.] Union newspaper dated 27 April 1915:

The transcription of this article is:

"SEAVER -- In this city, April 26, 1915.  Francis George Seaver, husband of Olive E. Seaver, father of Lois M. and Dorothea Seaver and son of Mrs. Charlotte Wheeler of this city; a native of Illinois, aged 48 [?]  years, 4 months, 24 days.

"Announcements later by Bradley & Woolman."

The source citation for this article is:

"SEAVER,San Diego [Calif.] Union, 27 April 1915, page 5, column 6, Francis George Seaver death notice; digital image, GenealogyBank (www.genealogybank.com: accessed 10 May 2018), Newspaper Archives collection.

Francis George Seaver (1866-1915) was the son of Frank and Zoa (?) (--?--) Severe, and married Olive Scott (1873-1943) in about 1890, probably in Iowa.  They had two children - Lois M. Seaver (1899-1991), who married Conrad Arnholt Smith (1899-1996), a San Diego banker and the first owner of the San Diego Padres; Dorothea Seaver (1900-1963), who married Malcolm Selby in about 1925.

I don't know the grandparents of Francis George Seaver.  His father, Frank Severe, was born in about 1827 in Canada.

I doubt that I am related to Francis George Seaver.
