Treasure Chest Tuesday -- 1771 Marriage of Jeremiah Knowlton and Abigail Pierce in Waltham, Mass.

It's Treasure Chest Tuesday - a chance to look in my digital image files to see what treasures I can find for my family history and genealogy musings.

The treasure today is the 1771 marriage record of Jeremiah Knowlton and Abigail Pierce in the Waltham, Massachusetts Vital Record book:

The Knowlton marriage section:

The extracted information from this record is:

"KNOWLTON, Jeremiah of Lexington, and Abigail Pierce, Apr. 4, 1771*"

The source citation for this record is:

Vital records of Waltham, Massachusetts, to the year 1850 (Boston, Mass. : New-England Historic Genealogical Society, 1904), Marriages, page 179, Jeremiah Knowlton and Abigail Pierce entry.

Jeremiah Knowlton (1745-1785) was a son of Jeremiah and Sarah (Allen) Knowlton of Concord, Mass., and Abigail Pierce (1750-1776) was a daughter of Samuel and Abigail (Stearns) Pierce of Waltham.   They are my 5th great-grandparents through their daughter, Abigail Knowlton (1774-1855), who married Nathan Gates (1767-1830) in 1790 in Westminster, Massachusetts.
