Treasure Chest Thursday -- 1707 Marriage of John Plimpton and Susannah Draper in Medfield, Massachusetts

It's Treasure Chest Tuesday - a chance to look in my digital image files to see what treasures I can find for my family history and genealogy musings.

The treasure today is the 1707 marriage record of John Plimpton and Susannah Draper in the Medfield, Massachusetts town vital record book:

The Plimpton/Draper marriage record is:

The transcription of this record is:

"[PLIMPTON] John and Susannah Draper, Nov. 13, 1707*"

The source citation for this record is:

Vital Records of Medfield, Massachusetts to the Year 1850 (Boston, Mass. : New England Historic Genealogical Society, 1903), Marriages, page 165, John Plimpton and Susannah Draper entry, 13 November 1707.

This is a Derivative Source record for the marriage of John Plimpton and Susannah Draper. It is Primary Information and Direct Evidence of the marriage date and place, and the names of John and Susannah. The original record is probably a Medfield town record that has been lost over the centuries.

John Plimpton was the son of John and Elizabeth (Fisher) Plimpton of Medfield, Massachusetts.  Susannah Draper was the daughter of John and Abigail (Mason) Draper of Medfield. John and Susannah (Draper) Plimpton are my 7th great-grandparents, through their son John Plimpton (1708-1756) who married Abigail Fisher (1711-1785) in 1731 in Medfield.
