Seavers in the News -- Mrs. Ethel S. Seaver (1875-1967) Dies in 1967 in St. Johnsbury, Vermont

Here is this week's edition of "Seavers in the News" - a weekly feature from the historical newspapers about persons with the surname Seaver that are interesting, useful, mysterious, fun, macabre, or add information to my family tree database.

This week's entry is from The Burlington [Vt] Free Press newspaper dated 16 January 1967, page 15:

The transcription of the article is:

This obituary identifies her age, birth place, residence, death date and place, and children's  names, plus occupation and church association information.

Ethel Ardell Wright was born 8 November 1875 in Orleans, Vermont.  She married (1) about 1895 Charles H. Elkins (1869-1910); (2) Cleon William Seaver (1886-1942) on 25 February 1925 in Troy, Vermont.  She died 14 January 1967 in St. Johnsbury.  Charles H. and Ethel (Wright) Elkins an had two daughters:

*  Marjorie Ruth Elkins (1896-1992), married 1927 Eugene David Haire (1886-1984)
*  Anna Marie Elkins (1901-1994), married 1923 Gordon Smith Page (1901-1988).

I am related to Cleon William Seaver (1886-1942). He is my 7th cousin 3 times removed.  Our common Seaver ancestor is Robert Seaver (1608-1683).  I am not related, to my knowledge, to Ethel (Wright) (Elkins) Seaver or her two daughters.

There are over 10,000 Seaver "stories" in my family tree - and this was one of them.   Life happens, accidentally and intentionally, and sometimes a person dies over 90 years old.  I am glad that I can honor Ethel Ardell (Wright) (Elkins) Seaver today.

You never know when a descendant or relative will find this blog post and learn something about their ancestors or relatives, or will provide more information about them to me.
