1893 Photo of Grandfather Lyle Lawrence Carringer (1891-1976) -- Post 773 of (Not So) Wordless Wednesday

I can't help it, I can't do a wordless post! This is now one of my favorite photographs:

This is a photograph of my maternal grandfather, Lyle Lawrence Carringer (1891-1976).  The photograph must have been taken in about 1892 or 1893, when Lyle was a small boy.

This circular photo was a wall hanging in three households - the Henry Austin and Della (Smith) Carringer family from 1893 to about 1946, the Lyle Lawrence and Emily Kemp (Auble) Carringer family (about 1946 to about 1977, and the Frederick W. and Betty Virginia (Carringer) Seaver family from about 1977 to 2002.

I found this photo in a shopping bag that contained the tabletop photos on the dresser, night stand, and/or family room countertop in my mother's home (Betty Virginia (Carringer) Seaver).  When she died in 2002, we gathered things up when we sold the house and I put the shopping bag and many more containers in the closet of my genealogy cave.  We finally started looking into the closet contents in April 2023.

This treasure is all part of our family history.  How I wish I could talk to my grandfather about his life experiences.
