Seavers in the News -- Pearl Mildred Seaver (1896-1973) Died in Texas in 1973

Here is this week's edition of "Seavers in the News" - a weekly feature from the historical newspapers about persons with the surname Seaver that are interesting, useful, mysterious, fun, macabre, or add information to my family tree database.

This week's entry is from the Lubbock [Texas] Avalanche-Journal newspaper dated 5 January 1973, page 6:

The transcription of the article is:

"Pearl Seaver

"KERRVILLE (special) -- Services are set for 2 pm. Saturday in Peaceful Gardens Mausoleum in Lubbock for Mrs. Pearl Mildred Seaver, 76, of Kerrville, mother of a Brownfield resident.  rs. Seaver died about 3 a.m. Thursday in Sid Peterson Hospital here.

"Pearl Seaver," Lubbock [Texas] Avalanche-Journal newspaper, Friday, 5 January 1973, page 6, column 4, Pearl Mildred Seaver obituary,   Newspapers.com   (https://www.newspapers.com : accessed 19 June 2023).

This obituary identifies her married name, age, death date and place, parents names, spouse's name, and daughter's name and residence, plus limited information about her occupation.

Pearl Mildred Floyd (1896-1973) was born 9 August 1896 in Haverhill, Massachusetts, the daughter of Willard Haskell and Angelette (Rich) Floyd.  She died 4 January 1973 in Kerrville, Texas.  She married Harold Edward Seaver (1895-1973) in about 1921 in Massachusetts.  They had one child:

*  Phyllis Angelette Seaver (1922-1989), married 1951 Dr. Harry Alvin Claypool (1919-2010).

Harold Edward Seaver (1895-1973) is my 7th cousin three times removed, with common Seaver ancestor of my 9th great-grandfather, Robert Seaver (1608-1683).

There are over 10,000 Seaver "stories" in my family tree - and this was one of them.   Life happens, accidentally and intentionally, and sometimes a person has a fairly sparse obituary with limited information. I am glad that I can honor  Pearl Mildred (Floyd) Seaver today.

You never know when a descendant or relative will find this blog post and learn something about their ancestors or relatives, or will provide more information about them to me.
