Website Searches for Historical German Place Names

 I received this information from Paul Burnham recently:

I have created a free website (HREplaces.com) where you can enter the name of a German village and a year (between roughly 1600 and 1806) and it will return the correct geography (equivalent of township, county, state, and country) for the village in the selected year. Coverage is sparse at the moment—I have data only for the Anhalt, Halberstadt, Lippe, and Schaumburg regions. I plan to add more, but it will be slow going (Germany is about the toughest place to do this).
