1710 Birth of Hannah Slocum in Jamestown, R.I. - Post 434 for Treasure Chest Thursday

It's Treasure Chest Thursday - a chance to look in my digital image files to see what treasures I can find for my family history and genealogy musings.

The treasure today is the 1710 birth record of Hannah Slocum in the Jamestown, Rhode Island  Town Records:

The birth record of Hannah Slocum is at the very bottom of the page:

The transcription of the birth record for Hannah Slocum is:

"[SLOCUM], Hannah [of Samuel and Hannah]    April 4, 1710"

The source citation for this record is:

"Rhode Island, Vital Records Extracts, 1636-1899," indexed database and digital image, Ancestry.com (http://www.ancestry.com), Volume 4, Newport County Births, Marriages, Deaths, Jamestown Births and Deaths, page 26 (image 358 of 691), Hannah Slocum birth entry.

This record is a  derivative source record for the birth of Hannah Slocum.   The original record is in the Jamestown town record books, which are on Family History Library US/CAN microfilms, available at the local FamilySearch Center.

Hannah Slocum (1710-1757) was the daughter of  Samuel Slocum and Hannah Carr of Jamestown.  She married Thomas Hazard (1707-1745) of North Kingstown in 1730.

Thomas and Hannah (Slocum) Hazard are my  6th great-grandparents, through their son Stephen Hazard (1730-1804) who married  Elizabeth Carpenter (1741-????) in 1760.
