52 Ancestors - Week 248: #373 Hannah (Slocum) Hazard (1710-1737) of Rhode Island

Hannah Slocum (1710-1737)  is #373 on my Ahnentafel List, my 6th great-grandmother, who married #372 Thomas Hazard (1707-after 1748) in 1727 in North Kingstown, Rhode Island.


I am descended through:

Hannah Slocum was born 5 April 1710 in Jamestown, Rhode Island, the daughter of Samuel and
Hannah (Carr) Slocum[1-3]. She married 22 February 1727 in South Kingstown, Rhode Island to Thomas Hazard (1707-after
1748), the son of Stephen and Elizabeth (Helme) Hazard[4]. Thomas and Hannah Hazard had only one child: * Stephen Hazard (1730-1804), who married elizabeth Carpenter (1741-????) in about 1760. Hannah died on 24 January 1737 in North Kingstown, Rhode Island, at the age of 26[1,3]. There are no available burial records for Hannah (Slocum) Hazard. According to the Hazard book, Hannah Slocum was a very small woman not over 5 feet in height.
She was so slight that her husband could span her waist with his two hands[5].
