4)  NOTES (with source citations as indicated in brackets):

The Guild families of America were described in the book  The Genealogy and History of the Guild, Guile and Gile Family[1].  The biography of Nathaniel Guild (page 23) includes:
"He was appointed by Gov. Belcher, Oct. 10, 1736, Ensign in Capt Eben Woodward's 2d Foot Company. He lived at Dedham, and died there Jan. 28, 1774."
The book Genealogical and personal memoirs relating to the families of the state of Massachusetts, Volume 4[2], includes this sketch for Nathaniel Guild on page 2195:
"(III) Nathaniel, son of Samuel Guild, was born in Dedham, January 12, 1678, and died there January 28, 1774. He was appointed by Governor Belcher, October 10, 1736, ensign in Captain Eben Woodward's Second Foot Company. He married Mehitable Farrington, or Hartshorn, who died February 10, 1771. Children: 1. Mehitable, born February 18, 1707/8; married, September 23, 1726, Jacob Ellis. 2. Mary, born October 24, 1709; married John Morse. 3. Moses, born May 14, `1725; married Rhoda Mann;10.  Aaron, mentioned below."
Nathaniel Guild was born 12 January 1678/9 in Dedham, Massachusetts, the son of Samuel and Mary (Woodcock) Guild[3-4].  The Dedham town record says (in Old Style dating, where the 11th month is January of the next year):
"Nathaneel son of Samuell & Mary Guile borne 12th of 11th [16]78"
Nathaniel married Mehitable Hartshorn (1683-1771, some older books say "Farrington") in about 1708[1-2] (estimated by the birth date of the oldest child), probably in Dedham (but it is not in the Dedham records).  They had ten children, all born in and recorded in the Dedham town records:

*  Mehitable Guild (1708-1798), married 1726 Jacob Ellis (1703-1752).
*  Mary Guild (1709-1751), married 1727 John Morse (1703-1750).
*  Nathaniel Guild (1712-1796), married 1733 Mary Boyden (1708-1776).
*  Susanna Guild (1713-1714).
*  Susanna Guild (1717-1742), married 1735 Jacob Hart (1710-1783).
*  Samuel Guild (1719-1743).
*  Rebecca Guild (1721-1793), married 1742 Samuel cony (1718-1779).
*  Sarah Guild (1723-????), married 1748 Jonathan Billings (1725-1789).
*  Moses Guild (1725-1789), married 1753 Rhoda Mason (1735-1797).
*  Aaron Guild (1728-1818), married 1756 Anna Coney (1728-1776).

Nathaniel's wife, Mehitable, died in 1771 in Dedham.

Nathaniel Guild died at age 95 on 28 January 1774 in Dedham, Massachusetts[5], and is probably buried in the Dedham cemetery although there is no cemetery record available for him.

There is no probate record for Nathaniel Guild of Dedham in the Suffolk County, Massavhusetts probate court records.
