Seavers in the News -- Lillian P. Seaver Dies in Oakland, California in 1963

Here is this week's edition of "Seavers in the News" - a weekly feature from the historical newspapers about persons with the surname Seaver that are interesting, useful, mysterious, fun, macabre, or add information to my family tree database.

This week's entry is from the Oakland [Calif.] Tribune newspaper dated 3 November 1963:

The transcription of the article is:

This obituary mainly includes the family members of Lillian P. Seaver, including the names of her grandchildren, plus her residence, death date, and church affiliation.

Lillian Dora Popp was born 21 September 1887 in New York City, the daughter of Charles William and Edith Mary (--?--) Popp.  She married Charles Henry Seaver (1875-1947) on 20 June 1903 in alameda, California.  They had two children:

*  Harold Edward Seaver (1904-1978), married 1929 Beatrice Edith Smart (1908-1998).
*  Raymond Bayliss Seaver (1905-1977), married 1930 Mary Goldsborough (1911-1984).

Charles Henry Seaver (1875-1947) is a 7th cousin 3 times removed to me.  Our common Seaver ancestor is Robert Seaver (1608-1683).

There are over 10,000 Seaver "stories" in my family tree - and this was one of them.   Life happens, accidentally and intentionally, and sometimes a person's obituary contains many relatives.. I am glad that I can honor Lillian Dora (Popp) Seaver today.

You never know when a descendant or relative will find this blog post and learn something about their ancestors or relatives, or will provide more information about them to me.
