Genealogy Pot-Pourri - Week Ending 11 April 2022

Here are the highlights of my family history and genealogy related activities over the past week.

1)  Hosted the Chula Vista Genealogical Society monthly Board meeting on Wednesday, and reported on the newsletter, Research Group and DNA Interest Group activities.

2)   Wrote, edited and published the April 2022 edition of the "Family History Gazette," the newsletter of the Chula Vista Genealogical Society.
3)  Served as a panelist on today's Mondays With Myrt webinar.  We discussed number and quality of sources, births and baptism records, genealogy software, family trees, and the new Family Group Sheet on WikiTree.

4)  Published a genealogy biography of  #310 James Maynard (1694-????) of Marlborough and Westborough, Massachusetts  for the 52 Ancestors series.

5) Transcribed a probate record - 1870 Will of Isaac Seaver (1810-1870) of Cambridge, Massachusetts - for the Amanuensis Monday series.

6) AncestryDNA now has 39,783 DNA matches (up 73) for me this past week, with no new ThruLines. MyHeritageDNA now has 10,307 DNA matches (up 16) for me, with no new Theories. Reviewed the new DNA matches on AncestryDNA, MyHeritageDNA, FamilyTreeDNA and 23andMe. Researched and added notes for 0 AncestryDNA matches and added no  ThruLines to RootsMagic.

7)  There were no sessions working in the RootsMagic software program to match with and update FamilySearch Family Tree profiles for Seaver families and my ancestral families, with occasional additions to the RootsMagic profiles. I have matched 47,961 of my RootsMagic persons with FamilySearch Family Tree profiles (up 0).

8) Used Web Hints and Record Matches from Ancestry, MyHeritage, Findmypast and FamilySearch to add content and source citations to my RootsMagic profiles. I now have 69,519 persons in my RootsMagic file (up 0 from last week), and 144,606 source citations (up 8). I TreeShared 38 new or modified profiles with my Ancestry Member Tree, and I resolved 452  Ancestry Hints. My current Ancestry Member Tree has Ancestry Record Hints with 24,481 to be resolved, but I work on them almost daily.

9) Wrote 17 Genea-Musings blog posts last week (Sunday through Saturday), of which two were a press release. The most viewed post last week was
The State of the 1950 United States Census - 3 April 2022  with over 625 views.

10) I am still fine here at the Genea-Cave, hunkered down and not going out much after Week 108 of COVID-19 semi-isolation. Linda is at a memory care and skilled nursing facility in Chula Vista 7 miles from home and I visit her for an hour every day - we usually play Uno and she wins about half the time.  I went to the grocery store on Monday and Friday. Linda's brother, Paul, came for a visit on Wednesday through Saturday, and we visited Linda every day.  He cut our back yard "lawn" for me since I can't do much work these days.  Daughter Tami and two grandkids came down on Saturday to see Linda and Paul - it was the grandkids first visit with Linda at the facility.  I watched the Padres first four games, and we have a 3-1 record on the season.  Other than that, it was stay-at-home on the computer doing (mainly) genealogy, plus eating, sleeping, laundry, cleaning, cooking, watching TV news and sports, reading books, napping, and a little yard work.
