Best of the Genea-Blogs - Week of 24 to 30 April 2022

Scores of genealogy and family history bloggers write thousands of posts every week about their research, their families, and their interests. I appreciate each one of them and their efforts.

My criteria for "Best of ..." are pretty simple - I pick posts that advance knowledge about genealogy and family history, address current genealogy issues, provide personal family history, are funny or are poignant. I don't list posts destined for daily blog prompts or meme submissions (but I do include summaries of them), or my own posts.

Here are my picks for great reads from the genealogy blogs for this past week:

*  Proving a Parent-Child Link Using Ancestry DNA Thrulines and Documentary Research: Part 1 by Diana Elder on Family Locket.

Emma by Marcia Philbrick on Heartland Genealogy.

*  Ten Genealogical Research Projects Aided by DNA Evidence by Nicole Dyer on Family Locket.

*  How to Create a Reverse Family Tree by Jennifer Dondero on The Occasional Genealogist.

*  Mondays with Myrt and Russ by Liv Birgit Christensen on Genealogical Research in Norway.

*  How They Do It: Diana Elder by Janine Adams on Organize Your Family History.

*  Announcing a Whole New Chart Concept--Set Style Charts by Janet Hovorka on The Chart Chick.

*  MyHeritage Employee Escapes Ukraine Thanks to His Grandfather’s Heroic Rescue of Jewish Refugees During WWII by Esther on MyHeritage Blog.

End of the Line by Jacqi Stevens on A Family Tapestry.

*  Your Ancestor’s Party: 5 Facts about Tupperware by Gena Philibert-Ortega on GenealogyBank Blog.

It’s Bucketing at DNA Painter… by Jonny Perl on DNA Painter Blog.

*  Tips for Archive Visits by Lori Samuelson on GenealogyAtHeart.com.

*  Trying Out  Cite Builder – The Citation Generator for Genealogists by Linda Stufflebean on Empty Branches on the Family Tree.

*  Book Review: “DNA for Native American Genealogy” by Margaret M. McMahon on A Week Of Genealogy

Here are pick posts by other geneabloggers this week:

*  Friday's Family History Finds by Linda Stufflebean on Empty Branches on the Family Tree.

Friday Fossicking, April 29th 2022 by Crissouli on That Moment in Time.

* This Week's Creme de la Creme - April 30, 2022  by Gail Dever on Genealogy a la Carte.

Readers are encouraged to go to the blogs listed above and  read their articles, and add the blogs to your Favorites, Feedly, another RSS feed, or email if you like what you read. Please make a comment to them also - all bloggers appreciate feedback on what they write.

Did I miss a great genealogy blog post? Tell me! I currently am reading posts from over 900 genealogy bloggers using Feedly, but I still miss quite a few it seems.

Thank you once again, Randy, for including one of my posts on your "Best of" list. I like Cite Builder. It's very inexpensive and I found it very easy to use. Others who share my dislike of those dreaded source citation templates in genealogy software programs might really like it as a viable alternative that offers the EE format.

Linda - will you be able to unlock your blog for Canada at any point soon? WordFence is still blocking me.
