Genealogy Pot-Pourri - Week Ending 8 August 2022

Here are the highlights of my family history and genealogy related activities over the past week.

1)  Attended the Chula Vista Genealogical Society Board Meeting on Wednesday on Zoom.  I reported on the Newsletter, Research Group, DNA Interest Group, and working on the website Events.

2)  Wrote six articles for the August 2022 CVGS newsletter and sent them to the assistant editor who published the newsletter on Sunday.

3)  Worked on the CVGS web site to add August events following the death of our webmaster, Gary Brock.  Checked out the One Drive repository for CVGS papers and files - I need the username/password to add or delete anything.

4)  Attended the San Diego Genealogical Society DNA Interest Group on Saturday, with Kathy Fernandes speaking on "Endogamy."

5)  Published a genealogy biography for the 52 Ancestors series for 7th great-grandmother

#711 Hannah (Mott) Tucker (1663-1732) of Portsmouth, Rhode Island and Dartmouth, Massachusetts.

6) Transcribed a probate record document -  1857 Guardianship of Minor Children of Abraham W. Seaver of Townsend, Middlesex County, Massachusetts - for the Amanuensis Monday series.

7) AncestryDNA now has 40,632 DNA matches (up 71 from 1 August) for me today, with no new ThruLines.  MyHeritageDNA now has 10,595 DNA matches (up 16 from 1 August) for me, with no new Theories.  Reviewed the new DNA matches on AncestryDNA, MyHeritageDNA, FamilyTreeDNA and 23andMe.  Added notes to 1 AncestryDNA match.

8)  There were no sessions working in the RootsMagic software program to match with and update FamilySearch Family Tree profiles for Seaver families and my ancestral families, with occasional additions to the RootsMagic profiles. I have matched 48,278 of my RootsMagic persons with FamilySearch Family Tree profiles (up 0).

9) Used Web Hints and Record Matches from Ancestry, MyHeritage, Findmypast and FamilySearch to add content and source citations to my RootsMagic profiles. I now have 69,892 persons in my RootsMagic file (up 6 from 1 August), and 145,264 source citations (up 24). I TreeShared no new or modified profiles with my Ancestry Member Tree, and I resolved 335  Ancestry Hints. My current Ancestry Member Tree has Ancestry Record Hints with 25,177 to be resolved, but I work on them several times a week.

10) Wrote 13 Genea-Musings blog posts last week (Sunday through Saturday), of which two were a press release. The most viewed post last week was
MyHeritage Introduces Photo Tagger with over 227 views.

11)  This is week 126 since COVID restrictions.  My recovery from heart surgery is (I hope)  complete.  Linda is at a memory care and skilled nursing facility in Chula Vista 7 miles from home and I visited her six times last week.  I went shopping on Monday and Friday.    I am still really tired every day, take at least two naps each day, and try to walk for 30 minutes every day on the block.  I watched the Padres games every day  and we are now 61-50 on the season (4-4 last week).
