This week's document for transcription is the will of William Sever of Taunton, Massachusetts, in Bristol County, Massachusetts estate file 22521, written in 1815 and proved in 1815.

Know all men by these presents that I William Sever of Taunton in the
County of Bristol & Commonwealth of Massachusetts this first day of June anno
Domini Eight hundred & fifteen now being of a Sound & disposing mind & memory
and knowing that it is appointed for all men to die think it to be my duty
to Settle and dispose of all my Worldly estate before the day of my death
so therefore make and Ordain this instrument to be my last will and
Testiment that is to Say as follows I give to my wife one room in my
Dwelling house with Sutable furniture to keep house &c I Give to my Son John
the house barn and Garden where he lives as the fence now runs I Give to my
Son William my dwelling house Garden & lot where the house Stand except my
wifes room which I give to him after her decease and I Give to my Sons John
and William all the remainder of my land between the road & the river &
to be equilly divided between them according to Quantity & Quality my son
John to have the Southerly part ^with the Barn &c^
& William the northerly part and ^except the tools and^ the one
half the Stone Kiln I consider as belonging to my Son John and I Give
him the other half and I do hereby Constitute and appoint my Son
John Executor to this my will & testiment and Order and direct him
to pay out of my personal Estate all my debts and funeral Charges
and the following Legacys that is to say to my Son Nathaniel
one hundred Dollars to my Son Benjamin five hundred dollars
to my Daughter Caswell two hundred dollars to my daughter Barney two
hundred dollars & I furthermore Give to my Sons John and William
all the residue of my Estate wheather in mortgages Notes money or
moveables in doors or out ^of doors^ of every description equally between them
after the above legacies are paid and my Sons John & William are
to provide for and Support their mother with every
necessary article for her Comfort and Conveniance.
In Witness whereof I have here unto Set m hand and Seal this
Day and year above written.
Signed Sealed published prounounced and delivered by the said William Sever as
his list will and testiment in the presence of us who in his presence and in the
presence of each other have hereto Subscribed our names

William Sever was born 8 May 1743 in Dorchester, Massachusetts, the son of William and Patience (Trescott) Sever. Me married (1) before 1763 Rebecca Hunt (1746-1767), and they had one child:
* William Sever (1763-1828), who married 1786 Mary Everett (1765-1815).
He married (2) 1767 Mary Foster (1745-1768). They had one child:
* Molly Foster Sever (1768-1818), married 1789 Samuel Caswell (1760-1851).
He married (3) 1771 Thankful Stetson (1746-1822). The had six children:
* John Sever (1771-1853), married before 1797 Lydia Porter (1768-1859).
* Nathaniel Sever (1773-1827), married 1799 Hannah Loker (1778-1862).
* Hannah Sever (1775-1830), married 1799 Salmon Barney (1772-1813).
* Benjamin Sever (1777-b1815), married 1803 Mary Porter (1777-1861).
* William Sever (1779-1869), married 1799 Lydia Presbrey (1778-1849).
* Samuel Sever (1781-1806).
William Sever of Taunton wrote his will on 1 June 1815, died on 28 July 1815 in Taunton, and it was proved on 1 August 1815.
William Sever (1743-1815) is my 3rd cousin 7 times removed. Our common Seaver ancestor is my 9th great-grandfather Robert Seaver (1608-1683).
