Grandma Bessie and Aunt Gerry Arrive in San Diego in 1942 -- Post 798 of (Not So) Wordless Wednesday

  I can't help it, I can't do a wordless post! This is one of my favorite photographs: 

This photograph is from July 1942 and was taken at the San Diego Train Station in downtown San Diego.  The photograph shows my paternal grandmother, Alma Bessie (Richmond) Seaver (1882-1962) on the left and my Aunt Geraldine Seaver (1917-2007) on the right.  They have just alighted from the train that carried them from Leominster, Massachusetts to San Diego.  The occasion is the wedding of Bessie's oldest living son, Frederick Walton Seaver Jr. (1911-1983, my father) and my mother Betty Virginia Carringer (1919-2002).  Classy ladies with dresses, hats, pearls, gloves and heels.

I seem to recall that this photograph was in Geraldine (Seaver) Remley's photo albums, but was probably taken by Lyle Carringer, Betty's father..

I colorized a black and white photo using the MyHeritage tools. 

This photograph is all part of our family history.
