Ancestry.com Has Over 700 Free Data Collections

I counted them!  Did you know that Ancestry.com has over 700 FREE indexed record collections?  They are listed on http://search.ancestry.com/search/group/freeindexacom.  Most of them are indexes, but they are still FREE to search and use.  They include most of the Web databases that are on another website.

The top of the page has search fields that can be used to search only these databases:

Further down the screen is the list of over 700 databases included in the list of FREE databases:

I put Isaac Seaver's name in the search field, and saw 183 matches:

There are some interesting collections on the list with useful information, especially:

*  Find A Grave Index, 1600s-Current (index info, but link to website)

*  1940 U.S. Federal Census (can see the image)

*  WW1 Civilian Draft Registrations, 1917-1918 (index info only)

You do need a Guest Registration on Ancestry.com, but it is free to use.

There are other free services and pages on Ancestry - see what you can access with a Guest Registration at http://help.ancestry.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/577/kw/Guest%20Registration.
