Monday Genea-Pourri - Week Ending 3 February 2020

Here are the highlights of my family history and genealogy related activities over the past week:

1)  Attended the Chula Vista Genealogical Society general meeting on Wednesday with Gena Philibert-Ortega presenting "20 Places to Find A Maiden Name."  Had a nice talk with Gena about her doing the WAGS seminar in place of DearMYRTLE and about societies in general.

2)  Watched one Family Tree Webinar video - MyHeritageDNA For Your Family Knot, by Jennifer Dondero.

3)  Wrote and posted a biographical sketch of 7th great-grandfather #526 Thomas Goble (1656-1724) for my 52 Ancestors biographical sketch on Friday.

5)  Added Notes to about 20 more AncestryDNA matches with cM values, relationships and known common ancestors, and added two ThruLines to the RootsMagic family tree database.  Reviewed new DNA matches on AncestryDNA, MyHeritageDNA, FamilyTreeDNA and 23andMe.  Posted Randy's Autosomal DNA Test and Analysis Summary - 29 January 2020 as a benchmark.

6) There were several sessions working in the RootsMagic software program to match with and update FamilySearch Family Tree profiles for Seaver families and my ancestral families, with occasional additions to the RootsMagic profiles. I have matched 34,295 of my RootsMagic persons with FamilySearch Family Tree profiles (up 69).

7)  Used Web Hints and Record Matches from Ancestry, MyHeritage, Findmypast and FamilySearch to add content and sources to my RootsMagic profiles.  I now have 56,104 persons in my RootsMagic file (up 108) , and 115,663 source citations (up 407).   I TreeShared twice this week updating 258 profiles, and I resolved 489 Ancestry Hints.  I've fallen behind on the Ancestry Record Hints with 123,266 to be resolved, but I work on them weekly.

8)  Received the approval from the San Diego Colony of GSMD to start working on the formal application worksheet.  I need to gather birth, marriage and death records for my last 8 generations of ancestors, including myself.

9) Wrote 17 Genea-Musings blog posts last week, of which two were press releases.  The most popular post last week was Seavers in the News -- G.A. Seaver Died in 1918 in Sonoma County, California  with over  542 views.

10)  Finished up the invitation list for our 50th wedding anniversary party in March at our church.  Daughters Lori and Tami are putting everything together, but need my help with this and with photos, videos, etc.
