Genealogy Pot-Pourri - Week Ending 27 December 2021

Here are the highlights of my family history and genealogy related activities over the past week.

2)  Worked on my DNA matches on MyHeritageDNA updating my spreadsheet.  I now have the top 50 matches on the sheet with lots of information.  Also added color-dot tags for descendants of 4th great-grandparents, but there aren't too many because I can't find common ancestors for most of my matches.

4)  Worked in the Massachusetts probate records for more of my ancestors and wrote about it in Rabbit Holes With Randy -- Finding Probate Records For My Ancestors Using Record Hints on Ancestry.com.

5)  Updated the lists for 52 Ancestors Biographies and Amanuensis Monday Posts to include the 2021 posts to date.  Started writing the 2021 summary posts too.

6) AncestryDNA added only 2 new DNA matches this past week, with no new ThruLines, and MyHeritage added 18 new DNA matches. Reviewed the new DNA matches on AncestryDNA, MyHeritageDNA, FamilyTreeDNA and 23andMe. Researched and added notes for 7 AncestryDNA matches.

7)  There were several sessions working in the RootsMagic software program to match with and update FamilySearch Family Tree profiles for Seaver families and my ancestral families, with occasional additions to the RootsMagic profiles. I have matched 46,386 of my RootsMagic persons with FamilySearch Family Tree profiles (up 144).

8) Used Web Hints and Record Matches from Ancestry, MyHeritage, Findmypast and FamilySearch to add content and source citations to my RootsMagic profiles. I now have 67,812 persons in my RootsMagic file (up 160 from last week), and 143,733 source citations (up 69). I TreeShared 333 new or modified profiles with my Ancestry Member Tree, and I resolved 973 Ancestry Hints. My newest Ancestry Member Tree has Ancestry Record Hints with 20,672 to be resolved, but I work on them almost daily.

9) Wrote 19 Genea-Musings blog posts the past week, of which none were a press release. The most viewed post the past week was
Saturday Night Genealogy Fun -- What Did Genea-Santa Bring You For Christmas? with over 491 views.

10) I am still fine here at the Genea-Cave, hunkered down and not going out much after Week 93 of COVID-19 semi-isolation. Linda is at a memory care and skilled nursing facility in Chula Vista 7 miles from home and I visit her for an hour every day - we usually play Uno and she wins about half the time.  Got my shopping done and visited Linda on Christmas morning with all the gifts for her.  We also calledo ur daughters and her brother.   The Aztecs won their bowl game on Tuesday and the Chargers lost their game on Sunday.  Went to church on Christmas Eve and enjoyed seeing friends and singing Christmas songs.  I went to the grocery store on Monday and Friday. Other than that, it was stay-at-home on the computer doing (mainly) genealogy, plus eating, sleeping, laundry, cleaning, cooking, watching TV news and sports, reading books, napping, and a little yard work.
