4)  NOTES (with source citations as indicated in brackets):

The English origins and descendants of Nathaniel Harwood of Concord MA were provided in a book by Watson H. Harwood, MD, A Genealogical history of the Concord Harwoods, Descendants of Nathaniel Harwood, son of John Harwood of London, England, Volume III [1]. This book contains very little biographical information about any of this family line.

Nathaniel Harwood was born 1 October 1669 in Concord, Massachusetts, the third son of Nathaniel and Elizabeth (--?--) Harwood[1,4].  The birth record in the Concord record book says:
"nathanell son of nathanell harod & Elizabeth his wife born 1. octo. [16]69"
Nathnaiel married Mary Barron (1673-1758) in about 1695 in Concord, Massachusetts.  She was the daughter of Moses and Mary (Learned) Barron[1].  They had seven children, the first was born in Concord and the rest were born in Chelmsford:

*  Mary Harwood 1696-1782), married 1718 Robert Proctor (1689-1755).
*  Hannah Harwood (1698-1781), married 1720 Peter Proctor (1694-1770)
*  Elizabeth Harwood (1701-1739), married 1731 Jonas Prescott (1703-1784).
*  Rachel Harwood (1703-1784), married 1732 Stephen Pierce (1698-1761).
*  Sarah Harwood (1707-1796), married 17412 John Cram (1717-1782)..
*  Jonathan Harwood (1710-1784), married 1738 Mary Parker (1716-1754).
*  Susanna Harwood (1713-1775), married 1736 John Robbins (1710-1775).

Nathaniel Harwood made his home in Chelmsford, Massachusetts after 1696.

In 1732, Nathaniel Harwood and his wife Mary gave their landed property in Chelmsford MA to their son Jonathan Harwood, providing that "...they were to have the best room in the now dwelling house, with the best chamber, and a good, convenient cellar, without any let, stint or hindrance.  And deed not to take place 'till their, the said Nathaniel and Mary Harwood's, decease."[1]

Nathaniel died on 28 August 1751 in Chelmsford, Massachusetts at age 81[3,5].  He is probably buried in a family graveyard in Chelmsford, and has a Find A Grave memorial[3].

Nathaniel Harwood died testate, and his will is in Probate Packet #10629 in Middlesex County Probate Court.  The will was written on 7 June 1744 and was proved on 16 September 1751 in the Middlesex County Probate Court[2].  The will transcription is:

NOTE: In 2014, Amy Johnson Crow suggested a weekly blog theme of "52 Ancestors" in her blog post 52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks on the No Story Too Small blog. I have extended this theme in 2021 for an eighth year to 416 Ancestors in 416 Weeks. The list of 52 Ancestors biographies from my great-grandparents to the 7th great-grandparents (in work) is in https://www.geneamusings.com/p/ancestor-biographies.html.
