Bear with me - we will get to the records that deal with the question at hand.
In What Is the Maiden Name of Ann (--?--) Seaver (1807-????)? - Part 1, we walked through the available records for Ann's husband, Nathaniel Seaver (1803-1859), except for one set of records. Ann was a part of the 1850 and 1855 census records, but was not mentioned in Nathaniel's birth, city directory or death records.
In What Is the Maiden Name of Ann (--?--) Seaver (1807-????)? - Part 2, we looked at Nathaniel Seaver's probate records in Rensselaer County, New York. He left everything - all personal and real property - to his wife Ann. He did not name any children as heirs.
In this post, I want to show the 1860 U.S. Census record for Ann Seaver:
Ann Seaver was enumerated in the 1860 United States Census in the 10th Ward of Troy, Rensselaer County, New York. The household included:
* Ann Seaver - age 53, female, $1800 in real property, $500 in personal property, born in Mass.
* Maria Smith - age 29, female, a dressmaker, $300 in real property, born N.Y.
* Maria Seaver - age 12, female, born N.Y., attends school.

Who is Maria Smith, age 29? I don't know, she may be a boarder in Ann's house, or she may be a daughter of niece of Ann. Ann probably rented a room to her and she is probably a boarder or renter.
Who is Maria Seaver, age 12? I don't know for sure, but I think that she is Olive Maria Seaver (1848-1903), who was the daughter of Elijah Seaver (1806-1857) and Marilla Minor (1811-1854) of Gill, Franklin County, Massachusetts. Elijah Seaver was the brother of Nathaniel Seaver. Elijah and Marilla (Minor) had seven children, and when Elijah died, Maria may have come to live with Nathaniel and Ann Seaver, while the two youngest daughters were adopted by the Elisha Clapp family in Gill and had their names changed to Clapp.
I have found no other records for Ann (--?--) Seaver. There is no entry in the 1965 New York State Census, or the 1870 U.S. Census, or any later census. There are no entries for her in a Troy city directory. There is no probate record for Ann in the Rensselaer County probate records. A review of Rensselaer County land records reveals no transactions by Ann Seaver up to 1896.
What happened to Nathaniel's real property that Ann reported in the 1860 census? Did she sell it, or was it inherited by her next of kin? Perhaps Ann (--?--) Seaver married again and there are records for her in an unknown married name. In the 1870 U.S. Census, there are only 3 Ann*'s in Rensselaer County born in 1807 plus/minus 5 years in Massachusetts, but there are 64 Ann*'s born in the states surrounding New York. There are 19 residing in Troy, but only one in Troy Ward 10.
Perhaps she went back to Massachusetts after Nathaniel died. I haven't looked there yet.
We are ready to find more records for Ann (--?--) Seaver. Unfortunately, there aren't many, but the family letters in Patti's possession will probably help us determine her maiden name. Stay tuned!
