RootsTech Connect 2021 Website Is Live! Build Your Playlist!

The RootsTech Connect 2021 Website is LIVE this morning at   https://www.familysearch.org/rootstech/rtc2021/home.

The Home page looks like this right now:

Everything works except for the live content - the Expo Hall, the sessions, the chat.  The Expo Hall preview starts at 7 p.m. EST (4 p.m. PST) today.

The FREE, recorded, on-demand sessions  start at 7 p.m. EST (4 p.m. PST) today also.  The Keynote sessions start at 11 p.m. EST (8 p.m PST) today on the Main Stage on the website.  All of this content is available for one year on this website.

There are tabs at the top for Home, Guide Me, Sessions, My Playlist, Expo Hall, "Ask Me Anything," and Menu.  There is a dropdown menu under Menu for a number of features.  There is a "Connect" button at the bottom right for Direct Messages and Chat Rooms.

Further down the home page is the counter for registrants - over 500,000 now!

There is a link to join "Relatives at RootsTech" there.

The "Guide Me" tab has collections of sessions on popular topics so you don't have to search for everything yourself.

The "Sessions" tab lets you search by speaker, title, or topic.  It also provides collections by topic:

I clicked on the "DNA" collection of sessions and saw a long list of classes and tips:
On each session, there is a plus (+) button to add the session to YOUR Playlist.  I added Leah Larkin's talk on the screen above to MY Playlist.  You can create your own playlist.

By clicking on Leah's image on the screen above, I can see a summary of her session, and can "View Session" (when sessions are available):

I have added a number of sessions to the "My Playlist" tab as shown below:

The "Expo Hall" tab takes the user to the Virtual Expo Hall:

The user can Search for a Company.  The page has links to each sponsor and each exhibitor.  Each sponsor and exhibitor has a page with information, booth demos, on-demand sessions, main stage sessions, and chat with someone with the company.  Here is the top of the MyHeritage exhibitor page:

On the "Expo Hall" screen above is a link for the "Demo Theater":

There is a long list of short demonstrations by individuals, companies, organizations, etc. that are not on the Sessions list, but can be added to your Playlist.

So go for it!  Visit the Virtual Expo Hall.  Use the My Playlist to add sessions that you want to watch.  After you watch them, you can remove them from your playlist, unless you want to watch them again later.   Explore the Chat opportunities (I think it is a text chat only, but I may be wrong!).

Not registered?  Go to www.rootstech.org and register now!  It's FREE.  For a year!!
