Seavers in the News -- Olive W. Seaver Dies in 1975 in Thompson, Connecticut

Here is this week's edition of "Seavers in the News" - a weekly feature from the historical newspapers about persons with the surname Seaver that are interesting, useful, mysterious, fun, macabre, or add information to my family tree database.

This week's entry is from The Hartford [Conn.] Courant newspaper dated 2 May 1975, page 18:

The transcription of the article is:

This obituary provides the name, residence, birthplace, church affiliation, husband and children names, and funeral and burial information.  It does not provide birth date, age, parents, occupation, other associations, or cause of death.

Olive Oatman Woodward (1881-1975) was born 13 January 1881 in Watertown, Connecticut, the daughter of Charles Herbert and Nellie Russell (Oatman) Woodward.  She died 28 April 1975 in Thomson, Connecticut.  She married Lloyd Badger Seaver (1894-1991) on 14 September 1923, probably in Connecticut.  They had two children:

*  Joan Lloyd Seaver (1924-2015), married 1946 Donald Roy Aichner (1923-2010).
*  Richard Woodward Seaver (1926-2009), married 1953 Jeannette Medina (1932-????).

Lloyd Badger Seaver (1894-1991) is my 8th cousin twice removed, with Robert Seaver (1608-1683) as our most recent Seaver common ancestor.

There are over 10,000 Seaver "stories" in my family tree - and this was one of them.   Life happens, accidentally and intentionally, and sometimes a person has a relatively sparse obituary with not much personal information I am glad that I can honor Olive W. Seaver today.

You never know when a descendant or relative will find this blog post and learn something about their ancestors or relatives, or will provide more information about them to me.
