Added or Updated Record Collections at FamilySearch.org - Week of 24 July to 30 July 2016

I'm trying to keep up with the new and updated record collections at FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/search/collection/list).

As of 31 July 2016, there were 2,112 record collections on FamilySearch (an increase of 2 from last week):

The added or updated collections are:

*  Czech Republic, School Registers, 1799-1953; Browse Images only, no indexed records, Updated 29 Jul 2016

*  United States, Freedmen's Bureau Claim Records,1865-1872; 273,418 indexed records with record images, ADDED 29 Jul 2016

*  United States, Freedmen's Bureau Records of Persons and Articles Hired, 1865-1872; 34,998 indexed records with record images, ADDED 28 Jul 2016

*  Belgium, East Flanders, Civil Registration, 1541-1914; 426,542 indexed records with record images, Updated 28 Jul 2016

*  BillionGraves Index; 18,780,474 indexed records with record images, Updated 28 Jul 2016

*  Tennessee, County Marriages, 1790-1950; 4,802,418 indexed records with record images, Updated 28 Jul 2016

*  Spain, Province of Málaga, Municipal Records, 1760-1956; 308,744 indexed records with record images, Updated 28 Jul 2016

*  Pennsylvania Civil Marriages, 1677-1950; 209,880 indexed records with record images, Updated 27 Jul 2016

*  Italy, Agrigento, Civil Registration (State Archive), 1820-1865; Browse Images only, no indexed records, Updated  26 Jul 2016

*  England and Wales Census, 1851; 18,369,674 indexed records with record images, Updated 26 Jul 2016

The asterisk used by FamilySearch is for "Recently added or updated."  I am particularly interested in new collections, for the obvious reasons.  FamilySearch does provide a listing of which collections are new or updated several days after my post.

My friend, Marshall, has come up with a way to determine which collections are ADDED, DELETED or UPDATED.  Thanks to Marshall for helping me out here!

In order to select a specific collection, go to https://familysearch.org/search/collection/list and use the "Filter by collection name" feature in the upper left-hand corner.

Each one of the collections listed above has a Research Wiki page (use the "Learn more" link).  It would be very useful if the Wiki page for each collection listed the dates for when the collection was added as a new collection and the dates for major updates also.

Something worth keeping in mind is that the record number for 'updated' databases isn't always going up. I have many Pennsylvania ancestors and I wanted to see how big of a change was made to the "Pennsylvania Civil Marriages, 1677-1950" database. I searched the database title on your website and found four hits appearing in the FamilySearch updates, three of which had record counts.

I have to wonder where those 32,000 records went!

Nice catch, Joe. I also wonder where they went. I wonder how often this happens. I can understand how they go up - they digitize or index more records, but the going down is a puzzle - perhaps they lost permission for a specific county (in this case)?
