Treasure Chest Thursday -- 1672 Marriage Record of Nathaniell Wade and Mercy Bradstreet in Andover, Mass.

It's time to look in my digital image files to see what treasures I can find for my family history and genealogy musings for Treasure Chest Thursday.

The treasure today is the 1672 marriage record of Nathaniell Wade and Mercy Bradstreet in Andover, Massachusetts:

The marriage record is at the bottom of the right-hand page:

The transcription of this marriage record is:

"M'r Nathaniell Wade and M's Mercy
Bradstreet was maried the last day
of Otob'r 1672"

The source citation for this record is:

"Massachusetts, U.S., Town and Vital Records, 1620-1988," indexed database and digital images, Ancestry.com (https://www.ancestry.com), "Andover, Births, Marriages, and Deaths 1647-1700," image 54 of 61, Marriage entry for Nathaniell Wade and Mercy Bradstreet, 31 October 1672.

This record is probably an Original Source, with Primary Information and Direct Evidence of the marriage of Nathaniell Wade and Mercy Bradstreet.

Nathaniell Wade (1648-1707) was born in Ipswich, Massachusetts, the son of Jonathan and Susanna (--?--) Wade.  Mercy Bradstreet (1647-1715) was born in Andover, Massachusetts, the daughter of Simon and Anne (Dudley) Bradstreet.  They married 31 October 1672 in Andover.  They had 8 children.

Nathaniell and Mercy (Bradstreet) Wade are my 8th great-grandparents.  I am descended through their son Jonathan Wade (1683-1720) and Mary Dolberry (1677-1720) who married about 1699 in Medford, Massachusetts.
