There is not just one item on my "To-Do" list! I multi-task pretty good.
a) I wrote about my Buck quandary in Rabbit Holes With Randy - Which Mary Buck is Rebecca's Ancestor? I have determined that she is the daughter of Samuel and Sarah (Walker?) Buck based on Samuel's 1760 will, proved in 1761. But which Samuel Buck is it? There are several candidates, but I cannot find one who died or was buried in 1761 consistent with the heirs-at-law in the will. My next step in this process is to look at the Massachusetts Land Records, 1620-1986 collection on FamilySearch to see if there is more evidence there for family relationships, when they moved from one place to another, etc..
b) At the top of my previous "to-do" list is to find and select images after 1793 for the Hilperton [Wiltshire] Land Assessment records on FamilySearch. These records are only available at a FamilySearch library or center. In earlier years, I gathered the records form 1773 to 1793. This collection goes up to 1884, and lists who resided in Hilperton, relative to other households, in every year - like a census but with no ages. It provides the property owner and the current resident. There are several Richman, Rich and Marshman families in Hilperton in this time frame, and this resource may identify their residence place, who the neighbors were, and when they first and last appeared in the collection.
c) Near the top of my previous "to-do" list is to gather more land records for my ancestral families in Killingly and Putnam, Connecticut. These records are on FamilySearch microfilm that are restricted to a FamilySearch library or center. My White, Wade and Richmond ancestral families resided in these Windham County towns.
d) I need to continue finding descendants of my 4th great-grandparents - all 32 sets of them. I add these people to my RootsMagic file, which is synced to my AncestryMember Tree, to help with identifying common ancestors for my AncestryDNA Matches. I use Ancestry, FamilySearch, Findmypast and MyHeritage record collections and family trees, plus Geni and WikiTree trees to identify candidates. If a descendant is deceased, I can usually find a birth year and place, a spouse's name with a marriage year and place, and a death date year and place, and perhaps a burial location and a newspaper obituary or death notice.
