Treasure Chest Thursday - Post 291: 1756 Marriage Intentions of Jonathan White and Abigail Wing in Dartmouth, Mass.

It's Treasure Chest Thursday - time to look in my digital image files to see what treasures I can find for my family history and genealogy musings.

The treasure today is the  1756 Marriage Intentions record of Jonathan White (1732-1804) and Abigail Wing (1734-1806) in Dartmouth, Massachusetts:

The White-Wing marriage is the second one on the lefthand page:

The transcription of this entry is:

The Intentions of Marrage Betwen Jonathan White and
Abigail Wing Both of Dartmouth was Entred with
Me January the 1th 1756 - Attest Benj'a Akin Town Cler

The source citation for this record is:

Massachusetts, Town and Vital Records, 1620-1988, digital images, Ancestry.com (http://www.ancestry.com : accessed 1 December 2015), "Dartmouth Births, Marriages, Deaths," no page number (image 714 of 2331), Jonathan White and Abigail Wing intentions of marriage entry, 1756; citing original data from Massachusetts town and city clerk records in Jay and Delene Holbrook, Massachusetts Vital and Town Records (Provo, Utah : Holbrook Research Institute), Microfiche collection

Jonathan White (1732-1804) was the son of William White (1708-1780) and Abigail Thurston (1700-????), and Abigail Wing was the daughter of Benjamin Wing (1698-1776) and Content Tucker (1695-1738).  Jonathan and Abigail (Wing) White are my fifth great-grandparents.  My line is through their son, Humphrey White (1757-1814).
