It's Treasure Chest Thursday - a chance to look in my digital image files to see what treasures I can find for my family history and genealogy musings.
The treasure today is the birth entry for Nathan Brigham (1671-1747) in the Marlborough, Massachusetts vital record book:The birth entry is 13th one from the top of the page:The transcription of this record is:
"[BRIGHAM] Nathan, s. Thomas and Mary, June 17, 1671."
"[BRIGHAM] Nathan, s. Thomas and Mary, June 17, 1671."
The source citation for this record is:
Franklin P. Rice (editor), Vital Records of Marlborough, Massachusetts, to the End of the Year 1849 (Boston, Mass. : Franklin P. Rice, 1908), Births, page 44, Nathan Brigham birth entry, 17 June 1671, son of Thomas and Mary Brigham.
This is an abstract from an original town record book for Marlborough, Massachusetts, so it is a Derivative Source with Primary Information and Direct Evidence of the birth of Nathan Brigham and the names of his parents.
Nathan Brigham (1671-1747) was the second son of Thomas and Mary (Rice) Brigham of Marlborough. He married Elizabeth Maynard (1664-1733), the daughter of John and Mary (Gates) Maynard of Marlborough, in about 1692 in Marlborough.
Nathan and Elizabeth (Maynard) Brigham are my 7th great-grandparents, through their son Nathan Brigham (1693-1784) who married Dinah Rice (1693-1725) in 1717.
