Walter's World in 2001 -- Post 682 of (Not So) Wordless Wednesday

I can't help it, I can't do a wordless post! This is one of my favorite photographs:

Yes, it's another Walter picture!  With Randy in the summer of 2001.  We were at daughter Tami's house in Long Beach (in Belmont Shores).  Walter loved to hang his head out the open window, in between the bars that prevented him from getting out and burglars from getting in.  The open window cooled the house, and Walter, and, as a young dog, he loved to see the world pass by his window.  He would bark at other dogs, and at passersby on the street, howl when he wanted to, and I'm sure he wanted to chase any cat, or car, that came into his view.  He also loved to have his head and neck and belly rubbed.

Walter was our first grandhound, and he was really special!  He crossed the rainbow bridge about 10 years ago but the memory of him is still fresh.

Walter was such a cutie. He looks like he's in doggie prison, here (and his head seems stuck between the bars!). Up until last July, we had Border Collie/Border Collie cross dogs for 34 years. Canines bring such joy to a household. Thanks for sharing Walter again, Randy!
