Best of the Genea-Blogs - Week of 19 to 25 November 2023

Scores of genealogy and family history bloggers write hundreds of posts every week about their research, their families, and their interests. I appreciate each one of them and their efforts.

My criteria for "Best of ..." are pretty simple - I pick posts that advance knowledge about genealogy and family history, address current genealogy issues, provide personal family history, are funny or are poignant. I don't list posts destined for most daily blog prompts or meme submissions (but I do include summaries of them), or my own posts.

Here are my picks for great reads from the genealogy blogs for this past week:

*  How to Accurately Verify Native American Ancestors on Legacy Tree Genealogists.

*  Discover Your Ancestors with Ancestry’s New Explore Feature! by Diane Henriks on Know Who Wears the Genes In Your Family.

*  Could the Golden Age of DNA Testing Be Over? by Louis Kessler on Behold Genealogy.

*  4 Best Ways to Learn from Your DNA Matches by DiAnn Iamarino Ohana on Fortify Your Family Tree.

*  1931 Canada Census now searchable on Library and Archives Canada’s website by Gail Dever on Genealogy a la Carte.

Genetic Distance Zero by Michael Dwyer on Vita Brevis.

*  Sometimes AncestryDNA ThruLines are Wrong: Disproving an Ancestral Hint by Dana Leeds on Dana Leeds.

*  CLEANING OUT AN ATTIC ~ What did I find? by Diane Gould Hall on Michigan Family Trails.

*  Can AI Solve Your Brick Walls? by Lori Samuelson on Genealogy At Heart.

A Tale of Two Johns by Melanie Frick on Homestead Genealogy.

*  Hathitrust: A Wonderful Resource At Your Fingertips by Marie Cook Beckman on MarieB's Genealogy Blog - Southeastern USA.

*  The Maryland Motherlode: Births, Marriages, Deaths, and Naturalizations on Reclaim the Records.

Here are pick posts by other geneabloggers this week:

*  Friday's Family History Finds by Linda Stufflebean on Empty Branches on the Family Tree.

*  Friday Fossicking 24th Nov 2023 by Crissoulli on That Moment In Time.

*  This Week's Creme de la  Creme - November 25, 2023 by Gail Dever on Genealogy a la Carte.

Readers are encouraged to go to the blogs listed above and  read their articles, and add the blogs to your Favorites, Feedly, another RSS feed, or email if you like what you read. Please make a comment to them also - all bloggers appreciate feedback on what they write.

Did I miss a great genealogy blog post? Tell me! I currently am reading posts from over 900 genealogy bloggers using Feedly, but I still miss quite a few it seems.
