The press release announcing the Global Alliance of Genealogical Professionals is on GeneaPress here. This group is intended to be a replacement for the defunct ExpertConnect service, and provides expert research advice and services to customers, and an opportunity for genealogy service providers.
There is more information on the FamilySearch Wiki at https://www.familysearch.org/learn/wiki/en/Global_Alliance_of_Genealogy_Professionals:
The alliance has a temporary website at https://sites.google.com/site/globalallianceofpg/home:
This service should be competitive with similar genealogical research services for customers. It is another opportunity for professional genealogists to offer their services on a contract basis. I hope that they prosper! Competition for genealogical research services is absolutely vital for customers and providers alike.
Thank you to D. Barry Sheldon for the information about this group.
