Treasure Chest Thursday - 1646 Birth of Elizabeth Pierce in Woburn, Mass.

It's Treasure Chest Tuesday - a chance to look in my digital image files to see what treasures I can find for my family history and genealogy musings.

The treasure today is the 1646 birth record of  Elizabeth Pierce in the Woburn, Massachusetts vital record book:
The Elizabeth Pierce birth record is the 5th record in the Pierce listing:

The transcription of this record is:

"[Pierce] Elizabeth, d. of Thomas, Dec. 25, 1646.""

The source citation for this record is:

Edward F. Johnson, Woburn Records of Births, Marriages and Deaths [5 Volumes], (Woburn, Mass.: The News Print, 1893), Volume 1, page 193, Elizabeth Pierce birth entry, daughter of Thomas, 25 December 1646.

This is a Derivative Source record for the birth of Elizabeth Pierce.  It is Primary Information and Direct Evidence of the birth date, place, and the name of Elizabeth and her father.  The original record is probably a Woburn town record book that was transcribed and is no longer available.

Elizabeth Pierce (1646-????) is the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth (Cole) Pierce of Woburn.  She married Nathaniel Pierce (1656-1692) as her third husband in 1681.  They are my 7th great-grandparents, through their daughter Mary Pierce (1682-1713) who married Thomas Dill (1682-1718).
