Best of the Genea-Blogs - Week of 10 to 16 September 2023

Scores of genealogy and family history bloggers write hundreds of posts every week about their research, their families, and their interests. I appreciate each one of them and their efforts.

My criteria for "Best of ..." are pretty simple - I pick posts that advance knowledge about genealogy and family history, address current genealogy issues, provide personal family history, are funny or are poignant. I don't list posts destined for daily blog prompts or meme submissions (but I do include summaries of them), or my own posts.

Here are my picks for great reads from the genealogy blogs for this past week:

*  FamilySearch’s Fan Chart View Feature for Your Family Tree! by Diane Henriks on Know Who Wears the Genes In Your Family.

*  Two Jonathans? by Marcia Philbrick on Heartland Genealogy.

*  Growing Old in Genealogy by James Tanner on Genealogy's Star.

*  Must Love: Rejected Native American Tribal Applications by Kathleen Brandt on a3Genealogy.

*  Genealogy Organizing: How I Do It by Linda Stufflebean on Empty Branches on the Family Tree.

*  Yaniv Was Right by Leah Larkin on The DNA Geek.

*  Uncovering Surname Origins: Mark's Journey with FamilyTreeDNA on the FamilyTreeDNA Blog.

*  Why Our Ancestors Came to America by Mercedes Brons on Who Are You Made Of?

*  East Coast Genetic Genealogy Conference – In Person and Virtual – October 6-8, 2023 by Roberta Estes on DNAeXplained -- Genetic Genealogy.

*  6 Reasons Why Taking an Autosomal DNA Test Can Bring New Insights Into Your Known Ancestry by Candace on Legacy Tree Genealogists.

*  Thank you, David by Judy G. Russell on The Legal Genealogist.

*  If you’re interested in genealogy, there are many ways to dive into your family history and learn more about your ancestors by Coni Dubois on Ever-Widening Circle.

Here are pick posts by other geneabloggers this week:

*  Friday's Family History Finds by Linda Stufflebean on Empty Branches on the Family Tree.

*  Friday Fossicking 15th Sept 2023 by Crissoulli on That Moment In Time.

*  This Week's Creme de la  Creme - September 16, 2023 by Gail Dever on Genealogy a la Carte.

Readers are encouraged to go to the blogs listed above and  read their articles, and add the blogs to your Favorites, Feedly, another RSS feed, or email if you like what you read. Please make a comment to them also - all bloggers appreciate feedback on what they write.

Did I miss a great genealogy blog post? Tell me! I currently am reading posts from over 900 genealogy bloggers using Feedly, but I still miss quite a few it seems.
