Saturday Night Genealogy Fun -- What Are Your RootsTech 2024 Expectations?

  Calling all Genea-Musings Fans:

 It's Saturday Night again -

Time for some more Genealogy Fun!!

Come on, everybody, join in and accept the mission and execute it with precision.

1)  Are you going to RootsTech 2024 (29 February to 2 March) in-person in Salt Lake City?  Or are you going to experience RootsTech 2024 virtually, watching online from home as it occurs, or watching it after the event?

2)  What events in Salt Lake City are you looking forward to attending?  What events are you going to watch virtually?  What classes do you want to see from each day?  The RootsTech 2024 schedule - both in-person and online - are available at https://www.familysearch.org/en/rootstech/schedule.  Note that not all of the in-person classes can be viewed online.

3) Tell us about your RootsTech 2024 attendance and class expectations in a comment on this post, or in a Facebook Status  post.  Please leave a link on this post if you write your own post.

Here's mine (all from the Online class list):

1)  I am going to experience RootsTech 2024 virtually online this year (again) due to my health issues and reluctance to travel.

2)  I've already taken the first crack at My Schedule.

NOTE:  You can select classes you want to watch either live or on-demand from the Class Schedule.  You can then see your My Schedule from a link in your face icon at the top right of the screen.

I usually watch all of my classes after the live presentation because I go visit my wife in her facility from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. every day.  Also, the schedule starts at 7 a.m. Pacific time, so I may not be up in time for the earliest class.

Here are some of the classes that I definitely plan to watch virtually from each day:

***  Thursday, 29 February:

*  From Research to Draft: Rapidly Writing Your Ancestor's Story, by Davon Noel Lee.

*  Fixing Sticky Problems in FamilySearch Family Tree, by Kathryn Grant.

*  Genetic Genealogy Turns 25: DNA Experts Tell Their Stories, by Diahan Southard.

*  What’s New at Ancestry® in 2024, by Crista Cowan.

*  Innovation and Tech Forum 2024, by Jared Spatero.

*  Breaking Down Brick Walls with DNA: Untangle Family Mysteries, by Aimee Rose-Haynes.

*** Friday, 1 March:

*  Did My Family Get Skipped? Mining Census Records for Missing Ancestors, by Nicole Gilkison Larue.

*  How to use AI for Family History Experiences, by Matt Armstrong.

*  Beyond Parish Registers: Tracing your Anglican Ancestors in England, by Nichols Dixon.

*  Using Images to Map DNA Matches in Ancestry Trees, by Laura Olmsted.

*  Brick Walls! Real? or Created Through Faulty Research?, by Barbara Vines-Little.

*  AI and Genealogy: Trouble Ahead?, by Thomas MacEntee.

***  Saturday, 2 March:

*  An Introduction to Scandinavian Church Records 2024, by Jenny Hansen.

*  Finding Your Common Name Ancestor, by Shaunese Luthy.

*  Diseases our Ancestors Faced and How Those Illness Changed Our World, by Gregory C. Gardner.

*  Unexpected Treasures: Family History in the American State Papers, by Judy G. Russell

*  Using AI (tools like ChatGPT) to Help You with Your Family History, by Kendall Hulet and Laryn Brown.

*  What’s in a name? DNA, surnames and one-name studies, by Debbie Kennett.

That's just some of my Class selections.  Right now, I have 48 classes on the My Schedule list.
