The Seaver Ballplayers in 1958 -- Post 592 of (Not So) Wordless Wednesday

 can't help it, I can't do a wordless post!  I found some more family photos hiding in my voluminous My Pictures file folder - This is one of my favorite photographs:

Little League baseball in the North Park area of San Diego started in 1957 when I was 13 years old, so I couldn't play baseball.  My brother Stan was 10 and so he was on a team that my father coached.  My little brother Scott was a ball boy.

This photograph was taken in the summer of 1958 (I think), and it shows (from the left);

*  Randy Seaver (age 14) with his left-hander's glove.
*  Scott Seaver (age 3) with our father's old Luke Appling glove.
*  Stan Seaver (age 11) with his catcher's glove.

We played a lot of baseball - in the patio (where this photo was taken, note the flip flops on Stan and me) between the houses, or in the street, or down at Grape Street park, or at the church playground on the way home from school, or up at Morley Field in Balboa Park where the Little League field was.
