It's Treasure Chest Thursday - a chance to look in my digital image files to see what treasures I can find for my family history and genealogy musings.

The treasure today is the 1702 marriage record of John Peirce and Elizabeth Smith in the Watertown, Massachusetts town records:

The marriage record for John Peirce and Elizabeth Smith is in the middle of the left-hand page on the image above:

This record is an Original Source with Primary Information and Direct Evidence of the names of John Peirce and Elizabeth Smith, and their marriage date and place.

John Peirce (1673-1744) was the son of Joseph and Martha (--?--) Peirce of Watertown.  Elizabeth Smith (1674-1747) was the daughter of Daniel and Mary (Grant) Smith of Watertown.

John and Elizabeth (Smith) Peirce are my 7th great-grandparents, through their son Samuel Peirce (1712-1772) who married Abigail Stearns (1714-1796) in 1739 in Waltham, Massachusetts.
