Here are the highlights of my family history and genealogy related activities over the past week (ending 1 December 2024).
1) Attended the Chula Vista Genealogical Society (CVGS) General Meeting on Wednesday. Cheri Hudson Passey presented "How to Use the FamilySearch Catalog" and we elected new CVGS Officers for 2025-2026.
2) Participated in Mondays With Myrt on Monday, 25 November. Jill Morelli presented her RootsMagic research notes and analysis process. I discussed the Google NotebookLM AI tool.
3) Transcribed the 1893 Deed of James A. and Melissa Kemp to Henry Dickeson for Land in Middleton Township, Norfolk County, Ontario for the Amanuensis Monday theme.

9) My AncestryDNA now has 47,375 DNA matches (up 36 from 24 November) with 2004 "close" matches today (up 1), with no new ThruLines. I added Notes to 1 Match, and added no new DNA match lines to RootsMagic. MyHeritageDNA now has 13,048 DNA matches (up 16 from 24 November) for me. Reviewed the new DNA matches on AncestryDNA, MyHeritageDNA, FamilyTreeDNA and 23andMe.
10) Occasionally matched RootsMagic 10 profiles to FamilySearch Family Tree. I have matched 52,173 of my RootsMagic persons with FamilySearch Family Tree profiles (up 4).
11) FamilySearch Records has 3,389 record collections (up 1). FamilySearch Images has over 5.584 billion images (up about 61 million). Full-Text Search now has 2,267 collections (up 160) with 696.8 million images (up 149.1 million) transcribed and sourced. Full-Text Search has 228,912 "+seaver" results (up 59,611).
12) Searched for more records of ancestral families on Ancestry, FamilySearch and MyHeritage, downloaded record images to my digital file folders, and added research notes, events and sources to RootsMagic profiles. My RootsMagic family tree now has 73,895 profiles (up 0 from last week) and 147,294 source citations (up 0).
14) Visited my daughter and two grandsons in Santa Cruz this past week (Tuesday to Saturday) to celebrate Thanksgiving and to visit the three grandcats. Both grandsons live away from home now - one in Portland and one in Nebraska, so it was fun to hear about their lives.
15) Real life events: Visited Linda several days at her memory care facility and we played Uno. Went to the grocery store on Monday. Finished reading The Innocent by David Baldacci, read 23-1/2 by James Patterson on the road trip, and started You've Been Warned by James Patterson and Howard Roughan.
