San Diego Genealogists - come to "Genealogy - Be An Ancestry Detective"

I forgot to mention earlier this week that I will be presenting Genealogy - Be An Ancestry Detective at the Pacific Beach Taylor Library in San Diego (4275 Cass Street in Pacific Beach) from 1:30 to 3 p.m. on Thursday, 19 November 2009.

This presentation is oriented toward inquiring or curious persons and beginning genealogists, but the lessons can be used by intermediate researchers also. This talk was advertised in the OASIS San Diego catalog.

The syllabus is great, too, for any researcher!

If you read this post and are attending, please come greet me after the presentation and tel me that you read it on my blog.

This is my local library of which I am a "life time friend". I wrote a response earlier to Randy's post. Given it was negative regarding this library's new policy patrons must check out their own books using a scanning system perhaps some censor stopped the post. I don't think I forgot to click on this or that required to post but maybe I did. I am not happy about my previous post not appearing.

Besides being a Life Time friend of this branch library I have contributed yearly to the city wide system for several years. No more. I figure if the library forces me to be a library clerk what I would have voluntarily contributed to them earlier is my pay for their forcing me to be their "voluntary" employee.

Randy, I'm sure you gave a great presentation and I hope you had a good audience. I know I would have enjoyed your presentation but after enduring the "you have to check out your own books" trauma this morning (and of course a library employee had to intervene because the dang thing wouldn't read the bar code on a book) well... all I wanted to do was get away from the library and not come back until my books are due.

I used to love my library. Sad - my library is now forcing me to be it's employee if I want to read a book. I can be mad at the library but I will never not love books.
