John D. Reid hosted a Genealogy Rock Star poll last week on his Anglo-Celtic Connections blog. There were 784 entrants who voted for their choices in all categories, without a limit on the number of votes cast. However, voters could submit only one list. There were four categories.
John's criteria included:
"...those who give ‘must attend’ presentations at family history conferences or at webinars. Who, when you see a new family history article or publication by that person, makes it a must buy. Who is it that you hang on their every word on a blog, podcast or newsgroup, or follow avidly on Facebook or Twitter?”
John announced the results yesterday in two posts:
* Rock Star Genealogists: Silver and Bronze Medalists
* Rock Star Genealogists: Gold Medalists
* Rock Star Genealogists 2013: Australia and New Zealand
* Rock Star Genealogists 2013: Canada
* Rock Star Genealogists 2013: UK and Ireland
* Rock Star Genealogists 2013: United States
John released the Top Ten for each category (Australia/New Zealand, Canada, UK/Ireland and USA) over the rest of the week. I added the links to the list above as they occurred.
There are a fair number of geneabloggers on the winners lists.
