Ancestry.com Family History Wiki Lands on RootsWeb.com

Ancestry.com hid the Family History Wiki several years ago, and then made it disappear several months ago.  I wondered where the Ancestry.com Family History Wiki was, and now I know - I saw a DearMYRTLE post on Facebook about it.

The Ancestry.com Family History Wiki is now on Rootsweb at https://wiki.rootsweb.com.

The two major "foundational sources" of the Ancestry.com Family History Wiki are:

The Source: A Guidebook to American Genealogy

Red Book:  American State, County and Town Sources

The links are on the right side of the screen above, under "Explore the wiki."

These published reference books were digitized in 2010, and then broken up into articles with connecting links to help genealogists and family historians learn about methodology and to provide information about different government records.

The Family History Wiki is free to use, and users can edit or add informational articles to the site.

I'm glad to see the Ancestry.com Family History Wiki has a place in our genealogy education universe.

Thank you Randy! I spent about an hour last week trying to find either one of them--was mystified!
