Treasure Chest Tuesday - 1915 City Directory for Charles Auble in San Diego, California

Today's Tuesday's Treasure is the 1915 City Directory entry for my great-grandfather Charles Auble in San Diego, California:

The entry for Charles Auble is on the right-hand page of the image above:

The extracted data is:

"Auble Chas (Georgia) painter, r 767, 14th."

The source citation for this record is:

U.S. City Directories, 1821-1989 (N.p.:n.p., n.d.), San Diego, California, 1915, page 191 (image 99 of 763), Chas Auble entry; digital image, Ancestry.com (http://www.ancestry.com : accessed 28 January 2014).

Charles Auble and his family, wife Georgianna (Kemp) Auble and daughter Emily Kemp Auble, moved from Chicago, Illinois to San Diego in about 1911.  The first San Diego City Directory he appeared in was the 1913 edition.

While Charles was alive, the family resided at 767 14th Street (near the southeast corner with F Street) and Charles worked as a "painter."  I believe it was house painting, since he was a member of the painter's union.
