Seaver in the News - Mary Jane Seaver Dies in 1951 in Florida

It's time for another edition of "Seavers in the News" - a weekly feature from the historical newspapers about persons with the surname Seaver that are interesting, useful, mysterious, fun, macabre, or add information to my family tree database.

This week's entry is from the Tampa Bay Times [St. Petersburg, Fla.] newspaper dated 23 June 1951:

The transcription of the article is:

"Mary Jane Seaver, 68; Moved Here Year Ago

"Mary Jane Seaver, 8121 Fourth Street North, died in a local hospital late Thursday night in a hospital at 68.

"Mrs. Seaver came here a year ago from Norwalk, O.  She was a member of the Baptist Church.

"Survivors include her husband, Charles H. Seaver, this city; sons William Fred and Edward Leonard, Detroit, Mich.; and a sister, Mrs. Martha Sentell, Knoxville.

"The funeral party will leave today for Knoxville, where services and burial will take place."

The source citation for the article is:

"Mary Jane Seaver, 68; Moved Here Year Ago," obituary, Tampa Bay Times [St. Petersburg, Fla.], 23 June 1951, page 18, column 2, Mary Jane Seaver obituary; ( : accessed 6 December 2018).

This obituary provides the name of Mary Jane's husband and two sons and a sister, but does not provide her maiden name or birth date and place.  The sons resided in Detroit, and the sister in Knoxville, and Mary Jane will be buried in Knoxville.

I did not have Mary Jane, her husband or sons in my RootsMagic family tree database.  After an hour of research on Ancestry and Find A Grave, I found the birth date for Mary Jane (Lee) Seaver (1883-1951), records for Charles Henry Seaver (1889-1958) and for sons William Fred Seaver (1909-1990) and Edward Leonard Seaver (1913-1978).

I am not related (to my knowledge) to this Seaver family.
