The treasure today is the 1784 marriage record of William Hutchinson and Catharine Lewis recorded in the Early London District records (Upper Canada):
The transcription of this record is:
30 August 1784. Capt'n William Hutchinson and Catharine Lewis, according to the Order of the Established Church of England. By john Beardsley, Chaplain to the Late L A Regt.
Bill Martin, "Early London District [Ontario] Marriages," online database, Bill Martin's Genealogy Website (http://my.tbaytel.net/bmartin/london_m.htm : accessed 17 July 2019), William Hutchinson and Catharine Lewis marriage entry.
This is a Derivative Source entry in an online database developed from transcribed records found at the Ontario Historical Society by Bill Martin. I cannot find this specific record on FamilySearch in the Ontario District Marriages, 1801-1858, since their London District microfilm covers only 1833-1855. The Ontario Archives or Ontario Historical Society may have this record.
This is the first record in this database for Early London District marriages, and may have been "collected" from the early settlers of the District by the record keepers (the next one in the database is from 1795). I have another record that says William and Catherine were married in Parr, New Brunswick on 30 August 1784. William and Catherine evacuated from Staten Island to St. Johns in 1783, and settled first in New Brunswick, and later settled in Norfolk County, Ontario in 1801.
William Hutchinson (1745-1826) and Catherine Lewis (1759-1845) are my 5th great-grandparents, through their daughter, Mary Jane Hutchison (1792-1868) who married Frederick Sovereen (1786-1875) in 1810.
